Therapeutic Yoga for Back Care | Gentle Movement
This therapeutic yoga practice is designed to gently support your back tension and pain with slow, mindful movement and breath. We’ll focus on releasing tension, improving mobility, and building quiet strength around the spine — without pushing or straining. This is not about stretching as far as you can, but about helping your nervous system feel safe enough to let go. Through breath awareness, supportive positioning, and controlled movement, we encourage the muscles around the spine to soften while also improving stability. This class is suitable if you: - Experience general back tension or stiffness - Spend long hours sitting - Want a slower, more supportive practice - Are returning to movement gently We want to gently work with the body, not against it. Always move in a way that feels kind to your body and avoid range of motions that cause you pain. It can be more beneficial over time to do a short daily practice rather than a longer practice once in a while.

Yoga Therapy for Chronic Pain | Find Relief Now
Take a gentle pause and give your body the support it needs with this deeply soothing therapeutic yoga practice. Designed specifically for pain relief, this session blends three powerful tools that require no effort on your part: - Constructive Rest Pose – to release the psoas muscle, calm the nervous system and allow the legs and spine to rest - Chair Savasana – for supported relaxation and allow for low back decompression. Savasana is typically done with legs straight, but this option can be so soothing for your low back - Yoga Nidra (Guided Relaxation) – a meditative rest to calm the nervous system and invite healing from within. During Chair Savasana you will be guided to let go even more. Often when we have pain, our mind is only focused on the area that is painful. Yoga Nidra can allow for the whole body to receive attention When you're in pain, your nervous system often goes into a state of heightened alert, also known as sympathetic nervous system activation — the "fight or flight" response. The Nervous System’s Role in Pain - Your brain and spinal cord (central nervous system) receive pain signals from the body through nerves (the peripheral nervous system). - When pain is persistent (like with chronic pain), the brain may start to interpret even mild sensations as dangerous. - This creates a feedback loop: more pain → more alertness → more sensitivity. Your body responds to pain as if it is under threat Symptoms could be: Muscles tense to protect the area Breathing becomes shallow Heart rate increases Digestion slows down You may feel anxious, restless, or fatigued This constant alertness makes it harder for the body to rest, heal, or regulate pain effectively. Why Gentle therapeutic yoga, breathwork, and yoga nidra can help: -Shift you into the parasympathetic state ("rest and digest") -Reduce the intensity of pain signals -Help your brain and body feel safe again -Support long-term nervous system regulation So when I say “pause and reset”, it’s not just relaxing — it’s helping your entire system come back into balance. This practice is ideal for those living with chronic pain, fatigue, or recovering from injury. You’ll be guided slowly and mindfully, with lots of cues for comfort and care. No prior yoga experience is needed — just a willingness to rest and receive. 🔔 Don't forget to like, comment, and subscribe if this practice supports you.
